The Way Light Fades

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Spacetripper Returns from Hiatus with Long-Awaited Debut Album “The Way Light Fades”

Southwestern Ontario rockers finally give their album the proper release it deserves

After an unexpected hiatus put everything on pause, Canadian rock band Spacetripper is back — and they are bringing their long-awaited debut album, “The Way Light Fades,” with them. Originally pressed and physically released in 2025, the record never got the rollout the band had planned for it. Now, with the hiatus behind them, Spacetripper is giving the album the moment it has been waiting for.

“The Way Light Fades” is the record fans have been waiting for since the band began rolling out singles in 2024. Tracks like “She’s the One,” “Never Loved You,” “Secrets,” and the anthemic “Love to Hate You” were all early glimpses of what was to come — a full-length album that distills everything Spacetripper does best: soaring choruses, honest lyrics, and the unmistakable feel of rural modern rock drawn straight from the great Canadian rock tradition of The Tragically Hip, Rush, Blue Rodeo, Sloan, and Our Lady Peace.

The album spans the emotional range the band has become known for. There are breakup anthems and country-tinged ballads, full-throttle rock declarations and the quieter, more uncertain moments that sit in between. Across its 11 tracks, “The Way Light Fades” sounds like exactly what it is — five guys from the back roads of Southwestern Ontario who kept the songs alive through everything life threw at them, and who never stopped believing the record would find its way to the people meant to hear it.

Drummer Christopher Betlejemski reflects on what the release means for the band: “This album almost didn’t get its day. Life had other plans for a while there. Putting it out properly now, with some live shows, feels like the ending these songs deserved.”

Following a string of well-received singles and a reputation for high-energy live shows at festivals across Ontario, “The Way Light Fades” marks Spacetripper’s most ambitious release to date and the start of a new chapter for the band.

The album is available on all major streaming platforms now!
